Kevin Eastman, co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, recently spoke about the upcoming reboot at the Phoenix Comicon. Eastman said, “I’ve seen the script. I’ve seen the design of the characters. It’s fantastic. The story has all the right turtleisms. They’re in the sewers. I’m very excited to see the movie.” So are we!
I am sure you have seen the devastation caused by the tornado in Oklahoma. Today we were lucky enough to catch Noel and the rest of the cast on their way to an inside set for the movie. It looks like they were also setting up to film outside until about 6AM (OUCH!). We’ll come back another time and hopefully get some shots of Noel in action.
We spoke to Noel for a little bit and got to see the nunchucks he was about to use for the scene. It was very cool to see his Turtle gear up close and also the make-up they are using on his face, along with a lot of dots. We obviously didn’t take close up shots of everyone, but took some shots from a distance before and after we spoke to Noel. Always great to see Noel!
We took the last picture because the props they were bringing to set looked interesting. I wonder who’s wearing the zebra…
Did we mention how awesome Noel is? It’s worth repeating!
Warning: Potential spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
We are finally getting set pics of Noel and the other turtles in full gear!!!! (Yes I squeed when I first saw them!) Here are the pics posted on SuperHeroHype along with their accompanying story:
“We’ve previously seen set photos from the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot featuring the first look at Megan Fox as April O’Neil and Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, but today we have something quite different, the first photos of the actors that will be playing the turtles themselves!
As you can see in the photos, it appears that three of the turtles, namely Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo have been kidnapped by the Foot Clan. Now, unlike the first three “TMNT” films, these are not practical suits. The production is using motion capture technology much like what was seen in 2011′s Rise of the Planet of the Apes and last year’s The Avengers. Check out the full gallery to see even more images of the actors in costume on the set.
Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the film features a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco, and is based on the characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. The film stars Megan Fox in the role of April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, and Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter.”

Michael Bay talked to Moviefone about ‘Ninja Turtles’ during his press tour for his new film, ‘Pain & Gain.’ Here’s what he had to say
There was that quote saying that we’re making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We’re not. It’s the ooze! It’s from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic. I think they’re going to be really happy with this movie. When I see the digital stuff, the turtles look great. [Full interview at the source]
We can’t wait to see how Noel looks as a Turtle! We have a lot to look forward to in 2014. Cowabunga, indeed!
I got asked again today what Noel Fisher fans are called. I said, “I dunno, Fishes?” Got me thinking, what should we be called? Let us know what you want to be called and we’ll try to make it a “thing.”
When news broke that Noel signed on to play Michelangelo, we also learned that the reboot will be called, “Ninja Turtles.” Now, word from CinemaCon attendees is that it will be called, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” after getting a peek of the film’s logo . They were also given some insight into which direction the filmmakers are planning to take with this version.
Instead of Ninja Turtles, Paramount revealed at CinemaCon this week that the reboot will be known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Instead of irritating fans by changing up the title, producers are apparently staying true to the source material.
Wrath of the Titans director Jonathan Liebesman is said to be working with TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman on the project. While many fans have cried foul at Michael Bay’s desire to make the heroes aliens from another planet, the filmmaker said true fans shouldn’t have a problem with this angle.
“If everyone was such a die-hard fan, they would know that the TCRI canisters where the ooze comes from … That is alien ooze. We’re expanding [the story], and the expansion will be true to the mythology,” Liebesman explained.

We’re very excited to see how they reinvent the Turtles and to see Noel show off his nunchucking skills.
